Cuties Cat Food Review

One of the most affordable cat food brands in the Philippines is Cuties. Heck! It’s the cheapest one we’ve reviewed on our site. But is there a catch?

Is Cuties safe for our beloved cats?

We’ll answer these questions in our Cuties cat food review below.

Cuties Catz as a brand

Perfect Companion Group (PCG), a Malaysian pet food company, is behind the Cuties Catz (or simply “Cuties”) cat food brand. PCG’s vision is to create an even greater bond between pet owners and their pets by providing high-quality pet food. It prides itself on continuously improving its products with its well-established and fully equipped research center.

Cuties Catz brand logo

Although Perfect Companion Philippines Corporation (PCPH) is active in the country, it’s Pet Plus Global that imports and distributes Cuties in the Philippines. PCPH only carries the SmartHeart and SmartHeart Gold cat food brands currently.

Where is Cuties manufactured?

PCG manufactures Cuties Catz. Its website doesn’t say how it sources ingredients. (Note that PCG is not listed in the Halal Malaysia Directory of Malaysia’s Official Halal Portal.)

One of the four Cuties flavors is different in Malaysia and the Philippines; it’s Salmon in the Philippines while it’s Chicken & Tuna in Malaysia. For the rest of the flavors, there are discrepancies in the ingredients used in Malaysia and the Philippines. For example, the Seafood flavor in the Philippines has cassava, while in Malaysia, it doesn’t. So, Cuties Catz cat food has been tweaked for the Philippine market before importation.

What kinds of food does Cuties offer?

Cuties offers dry cat food in 22kg sacks. Its dry cat food comes in four flavors: Seafood, Tuna, Tuna & Shrimp, and Salmon.

Overall, is Cuties cat food good for cats?

We rate Philippine cat food brands by ingredient quality, nutritional balance, product variety, price, and availability.

Ingredient quality: ★★★★★(1.0 of 5.0 stars)

Cuties Catz scored the same overall as its products–1 star–in ingredient quality, even though they each have slightly different ingredients. The difference gives each product a different flavor, shape, and color. It scored 1 star because none of the ingredients is human-grade, each product’s main ingredient isn’t an animal, and each has added preservatives and flavoring.

Nutritional balance: ★★★★★(2.0 of 5.0 stars)

Cuties Catz scored the same overall as its products–2 stars–in nutritional balance because they all have the same guaranteed analysis. Thus, the same dry matter basis. There’s likely one in your vicinity. It’s also available in Pet Warehouse; they offer free shipping in Metro Manila for orders above ₱995.00.

Cuties’ Overall Rating: ★★★★★(2.6 of 5.0 stars)

Giving equal weights to each of the criteria above (~20%), the Cuties Catz earns a score of 2.6 stars as a brand.
